Laborer
Full time position - $20 per hour

Job Title: Construction Laborer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Construction Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will participate in various construction projects and follow construction plans and instructions from the site supervisor. Although experience is highly valued, we also welcome new entrants to the construction industry who are motivated to learn and grow in their roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up and breaking down construction sites, maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times.
  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines. Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
  • Load or unload construction materials to be used in construction projects.
  • Remove, fill, or compact earth using shovels and other equipment.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g., digging, stacking up goods, etc.).
  • Measure and cut materials to specifications.
  • Ensure that you are compliant with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • No formal education required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work under extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be punctual and reliable.

Skills:

  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus.
  • Strong reading and mathematical skills required to understand plans and manuals.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • The position involves high levels of physical labor, so physical fitness is essential.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, and moving of heavy materials is expected.

Foreman
Full time position - $35 per hour

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Foreman to join our dynamic team. As the leader of our construction projects, the Construction Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations on the construction site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction workers and subcontractors to ensure efficient job performance and adherence to schedules.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and to plan the best approach for construction.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, including labor costs, material procurement, and equipment usage, ensuring economic and efficient use of resources.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures among crew members to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and meetings.
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably, ensuring a cohesive and motivated team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and relay any changes in plans.
  • Provide training and mentorship to workers, enhancing their skills and performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of construction processes, employee performance, and progress on the project.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a construction foreman or in a similar supervisory role in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed technical drawings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in construction management is highly desirable.
